THE HOLIDAY BOX On the first morning of the holidays, Naledi found a dusty box in her grandmother's cupboard. Inside were paper stars, a faded photograph and a small wooden bird. "These decorations have travelled with our family," Grandma said. Naledi wanted to buy shiny new decorations, but she listened as Grandma explained each object. The photograph showed neighbours sharing a meal many years earlier. The wooden bird had been carved by Naledi's grandfather. One paper star was torn, so Naledi carefully repaired it. By afternoon, the old box had become a bridge to the past. That evening, Naledi invited her friend Adam to help decorate. His family celebrated different special days, and they enjoyed comparing their traditions. When a strong wind blew through the window, the paper stars danced above the table. Naledi smiled. She decided that next year she would add a decoration of her own.
Where did Naledi find the box?
